All my thoughts, plans, and ideas seem to melt on the sight of you.
Floating on my hammock dreaming of your smile and what I wouldn’t do to see it
All seem in vain when I see you in the terminal
Tripping over my floor length dress I melt into your arms and try to speak
In my head I planned on divulging the dust from the darkest hidden parts
You break into a smile and grab my waist with the strength of a high tide
In your eyes I see no fear or hesitation
You’ve snatched the words from me
My courage to speak has melted like the beads of sweat beating my brow from the sweltering Mombasa sun
But, I was to be brave today and say all you wished I could always say
When I see you my courage vanished and I’m left second guessing, every kiss and smile accompanied by thousands of loose thoughts floating by like buoys
