#TBT:Zanzibar the Second Time Around

Hi all! I’m happy to introduce a new series of photos from my times living and loving in Africa. Every Thursday, I’ll share a photo from my time in Cameroon, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia or Rwanda. I’ll be reflecting on some lessons I learning during my time in these places, and some amazing photos either way.

This photo is from my second visit to Stonetown and I undoubtedly fell more in love with Stonetown upon visiting there a second time. We toured a tiny island, had some amazing seafood, and did a water safari and snorkeled the day away. I was thrilled to be back in vibrant Stonetown, complete with narrow historic streets, beautiful rooftops, and amazing art lines the city. It is obvious why this amazing island garners millions of tourists each year. Zanzibar is also known for its amazing views of the Indian Ocean, and this photo was captured at my favorite time of day and shows just how incredible this coastline is. During my move to Kenya, I anticipate exploring more of the Swahili Coast in Kenya and reconnecting to the Swahili culture that beats so deeply within my heart.

Happy Thursday!

Always,

m
